2. Complete step details. If the step needs to be inserted within an existing flow, refer to the next section, [Insert a step between existing steps](/userflow/docs/insert-step-in-between#insert-a-step-between-existing-steps).

### Deleting a step

1. Click the **gear** icon for the step you want to delete. ![](https://cdn.us.document360.io/9697557a-eb5d-476f-9b09-062b0f7bdcbd/Images/Documentation/image(294).png)
2. Click **Delete step**.

## Inserting a step between existing steps

When you build a flow and need to add a step between two existing steps, Userflow’s Flow Builder offers two simple approaches.

### Method 1: The Quick Method

1. **Select the first step:** Click on the step that should come before your new step. This method works with regular steps, triggers, and tooltips.
2. **Access the existing action:**Click on the step's current "Go-to-step" action button.
3. **Add your new step:**From the menu, select **Add new step**. The new step will automatically appear right after the first step.
4. **Connect the flow:** The first step now automatically links to your new step. Add a button to the new step and connect it to the third step to complete the sequence. The drag-and-drop way

### Method 2: The Drag-and-Drop Method

1. **Create a new step:**Click the "Add step" button located on the far right of the Flow Builder. You may need to scroll horizontally to find it.
2. **Position the step:** Drag the new step to the exact position where you want it between your existing steps.
3. **Update the connections:** Click the first step's link port (connection point), then click your new step to redirect the flow path.
4. **Complete the sequence:** Add a button to your new step and link it to the third step in your flow.

Both methods accomplish the same goal. Choose the method that works best for your workflow.
