# Funnel Analysis

Funnel Analysis shows you exactly where users drop off as they move through a process in your product — so you can identify friction points, measure the impact of improvements, and prioritize what to fix first.

Funnel Analysis is part of Userflow's **Product Adoption Insights** suite. You create funnels in Chart Builder, alongside Usage Analysis charts and Group By segmentation.

## What you can analyze

- **Conversion optimization:** Find which steps have the highest drop-off rates so you know where to focus improvement efforts.
- **User experience insights:** Identify friction points where users struggle or abandon a process.
- **Performance tracking:** Measure how product changes affect conversion rates over time.
- **Segmentation:** Compare how different user groups move through the same funnel.

## Creating a funnel

1. Select **Charts** from the sidebar and click **Create chart**.
2. Enter a name for your chart.
3. Select **Funnel**.
4. Click **Select event** to choose the first step in your funnel.
5. (Optional) Enter a display name for this step.
6. (Optional) Click **Add condition** to filter this step by specific event attributes (e.g., a specific page URL for a Page Viewed event).
7. Click **Add Step** and repeat for each subsequent step. You can add up to 10 steps.
8. Select **User funnel** or **Company funnel** to switch the data view.
9. Click **Save chart**.

> **Note:** Only event attributes can be added at the step level. User and company attributes apply at the global level — use Global filters for those.

## Reading funnel data

The table below the chart shows for each step:

| Column | What it means |
| --- | --- |
| Number | Users who completed this step |
| % Completion | % of step-1 users who reached this step |
| % Step Completion | % of previous-step users who reached this step |
| Drop-offs | Users who exited at this step |
| % Drop-off | % of step-1 users who exited at this step |
| % Step Drop-off | % of previous-step users who exited at this step |

Hover over any bar in the chart to see the callout data for that step.

## Exporting funnel data

You can export the users at any funnel step to CSV for targeted follow-up or analysis in other tools.

1. Hover to the right of the step you want to export data for and click the export icon.
2. Select the **Reached step** or **From prev. step** tab.
3. Click **Export users as CSV**.

## Global filters

Apply global filters to focus your funnel on a specific subset of users or companies. Click **Add global filter** in the upper right to filter by user or company attributes and segments.
