# Step templates

Step templates revolutionize how you build flows by eliminating repetitive work and accelerating your content creation process. Instead of recreating commonly used steps each time you need them, you can now save your frequently used step configurations as reusable templates and access them instantly through an intuitive interface.

Whether you're building onboarding sequences, feature announcements, or complex multi-step processes, step templates adapt seamlessly to any flow's theme while maintaining their core functionality. With built-in organization tools that allow you to rename and delete templates, you can maintain a clean, personalized library of your most valuable step configurations, transforming hours of manual setup into minutes of efficient template selection.

## Save a step as a template

You can save any speech bubble, tooltip, or modal as a template. The text, element selection, and settings will be saved in the template. Saved templates are available to anyone associated with the company in Userflow.

1. View the step’s settings and click **Save as template**. ![](https://cdn.us.document360.io/9697557a-eb5d-476f-9b09-062b0f7bdcbd/Images/Documentation/image(130).png)
2. Enter a name and description for the template, then click **Create Template**.

*When you save a template, it saves everything - content, step settings, and any selected target element. However, links to other steps are not saved with the template.* ![](https://cdn.us.document360.io/9697557a-eb5d-476f-9b09-062b0f7bdcbd/Images/Documentation/image(131).png)
