You can change or downgrade your Beamer plan from your billing settings. Here's what to expect.
What happens when you downgrade
Changes take effect at the end of your current billing term — you keep your current features until then.
Beamer doesn't issue prorations, credits, or refunds for the unused part of a term.
You'll see a confirmation summary before the change is applied, and you'll get an email when the change is scheduled and again on the day it takes effect.
You can cancel a scheduled downgrade any time before it takes effect, so your plan renews as-is.
Add-ons, such as MAU bundles and the email add-on, can't be removed from Settings > Billing. Contact our support team with your Product ID and we'll remove them at the end of your billing period.
How to downgrade or change your plan
Go to Settings > Billing.
Select the product you want to change — Changelog, NPS, or Feedback.
In the plan box, click DOWNGRADE and confirm on the summary screen.
If the downgrade button is disabled
If DOWNGRADE is greyed out and you see "You have reached MAU limit and cannot downgrade", your account is currently over the Monthly Active User limit of the plan you want to move to. Downgrade and cancellation are both unavailable while that is true.
Two ways forward:
Bring your MAU count down. Reducing your Monthly Active Users is what clears the block. See How can I reduce MAU's? (Monthly Active Users) for the practical steps, the most effective being to stop embedding Beamer on pages visitors reach before logging in.
Ask us. Contact our support team with your Product ID and tell us which plan you want to move to. We can work through it with you.
Annual and custom plans
Switching from an annual plan to monthly isn't self-serve — contact our support team and we'll schedule it for the end of your term. Custom plans also aren't self-serve. Ask our team in the chat and we'll help (see the steps below).
What "not self-serve" means in practice
There is no button for these, so the request is the message you send us. Here is the whole sequence, so you can tell when you have done your part:
Ask for a person, then send the request. Open the chat at the bottom-left of your dashboard and type "talk to a person." The first replies in the chat are automated. They can answer questions, but they can't change your plan, so the request needs to reach our team. Then tell us the plan you are on, the plan you want to move to, and your Product ID. You don't need to fill in a form.
We may ask why. We usually ask what is prompting the change. That is so we can check whether a different plan fits better or whether a limit is the real problem. It is not a step you have to pass to get the change.
We confirm the date. Changes take effect at the end of your current term, and we tell you which date that is.
You get a confirmation. You will have it in writing before anything changes, and again on the day it takes effect.
If a member of our team has replied to confirm, the request is in and nothing more is needed from you. If you've only had automated replies, your request hasn't reached us yet. Ask for a person in the same chat.
