Managing teams

For more about how to manage your team members, refer to {{ glossary.Beamer}}/docs/how-to-invite-my-team" target="_self" translate="no">How to invite team members, and How to delete a team member.

What are roles and permissions?

In Beamer you can collaborate as a team with multiple users in a single account. Each team member has a role, and each role has multiple permissions.

  • Roles. Roles are profiles that include a series of permissions. All users have an assigned role.

  • Permissions. Permissions define the ability to perform certain actions or use specific features. You can enable or disable permissions for each role.

To manage your team go to Settings and then to Team. Manage your team now!

How to manage and assign roles

When inviting a team member

  1. Select Settings > Team from the sidebar, enter an email address and select a role for that user from the dropdown menu.

  2. Click Invite User. An email with an invite link will be sent to that address and the user and role will display after they’ve been invited.

For current team members

  1. Select Settings > Team from the sidebar.

  2. Select a different role from the dropdown menu for the user you want to change.

How to manage permissions

Permissions define the ability to perform certain actions or use specific features. You can enable or disable permissions for each role.

  1. Select Settings > Team from the sidebar.

  2. In the Roles section, locate the role you want to manage and click Edit.

  3. Use the toggle switch to enable or disable each permission you want that role to have or not have.

  4. Click Save.

Enabling individual permissions

Within each role, you can enable or disable specific permissions. Some permissions provide the ability to edit, delete, or manage specific elements while other permissions provide access to specific components of Beamer - for example, NPS, API, Inbox, etc.

In each role, you can modify permissions for:

  • Create posts; Publish posts; Edit posts; Delete posts; Archive posts

  • Manage team; Manage roles

  • Edit product info

  • Edit appearance; Edit CSS

  • Edit languages

  • Manage billing
