Auto-subscribe users to email updates

Prev Next

Available in Changelog Pro & above plans

Using Beamer’s Auto-Subscription, you can automatically enroll users who have agreed to receive email notifications in your application to get emails from Beamer. After confirming your custom sender domain in Beamer, you will be able to automatically subscribe your users to emails you send from Beamer. Updates from Beamer, sent to your users, will originate from your domain rather than Beamer’s domain, and your users will not need to opt in twice (once for your app and once for Beamer) to get your updates, minimizing redundancy and friction.

Once you’ve set auto-subscription for your users, existing and future users who opt into email in your application will be auto-enrolled in Beamer updates.

Enable Auto-Subscription

Once enabled, existing and future users who opt in to receive emails in your app will automatically be subscribed to emails from Beamer (using your verified sender domain).

Prerequisite: Verify your custom sender domain

Refer to the How to set up your custom sender domain for more information.

  1. Select Analytics > Email subscriptions from the sidebar.

  2. Click Auto-subscribe users in the upper right.

A pop-up confirmation will appear, confirming that your users are now automatically subscribed. The button will change to indicate that users are auto-subscribed.

Note: Beamer domain & email address

Once auto-subscribe is enabled, the option to use the Beamer domain and email address will be unavailable.

Manually Pause Auto-Subscription

You can pause auto-subscription at any time.

  1. Click Users auto-subscribed in the upper right.

  2. Click Pause in the pop-up confirmation prompt.

The button will change to indicate that auto-subscription is paused.

Manually Unpause Auto-Subscription

  1. Click Auto-subscription paused in the upper right.

  2. Click Resume in the pop-up confirmation prompt.

The button will change to indicate that users are auto-subscribed.

Automatic Pause of the Auto-Subscription

If a custom sender domain is removed or the custom sender domain verification fails, auto-subscription will be paused automatically. You can re-enable auto-subscription at any time by verifying the custom sender domain and following the instructions above for unpausing the subscription.
