Changing the visibility of an Idea or an Idea comment

Prev Next

Control who sees your Ideas and related comments to protect your competitive advantage and manage customer relationships strategically. Set Ideas as public to gather broad community input on your roadmap, or keep them internal when you need to develop features privately, test concepts with select customers, or maintain confidentiality around sensitive product plans.

This flexibility lets you:

  • Share roadmap items openly while keeping strategic initiatives under wraps.

  • Collaborate with specific customers without alerting competitors.

  • Test ideas internally before making public commitments.

  • Manage customer expectations by controlling what appears in your Idea Portal and Public Roadmap.

Edit Idea visibility

  1. Select Beamer Feedback from the sidebar to view the Idea dashboard.

  2. Change the visibility of a single idea: Click the visibility icon (the eye) to the left of the Idea, then click Accept when prompted.
Change visibility for multiple ideas: Select the check box next to each idea you want to change, then click the Update visibility icon (the eye) in the Actions header. Select Public or Internal when prompted.

Selecting multiple ideas with different visability

If you select multiple ideas with different visibility levels (e.g., one public and one internal) and then choose to update their visibility collectively, you must choose either public or internal. You cannot designate different visibility levels for each. Either the update to the selected ideas will be all public or all internal.
